INVESTING IN THE FUTURE OF D.C. YOUTH
For years, the New York Avenue Educational Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has supported organizations such as Community Club, the Northeast Performing Arts Group, and Free Minds Book Club to tutor, mentor and empower students throughout Washington, D.C. Together, we've helped more than 750 Community Club students set a course for success in school and throughout life.
NYAEF participates in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC #25839).

Our Mission
For more than 30 years, the New York Avenue Educational Foundation has transformed the lives of D.C. youth through our support of innovative programs that encourage students to unlock their full potential. It is our mission to fund programs and services for grassroots organizations that promote educational advancement for students throughout our community.
NYAEF is composed of an all-volunteer Board who works to promote positive educational outcomes for underserved students throughout Washington, D.C. More than 95% of the money raised by the Foundation is passed along to innovative grassroots organizations that strive to empower each and every young person to become productive citizens of our community and beyond.

Community Club
Since 1962, Community Club has helped D.C. school students improve their academic skills, prepare for college and career and become successful adults. Community Club provides a supportive, secure environment, where learning and understanding flourish. The structure of Community Club - long-term, one-on-one relationships between students and caring adult tutors and mentors - offers students the best opportunity for academic and personal success. The New York Avenue Educational Foundation is pleased to support organizations such as Community Club to help D.C. youth realize their potential.
Over the decades, more than 2,500 volunteers and 2,000 students have participated in the program. Community Club has a number of services that supplement the core tutoring sessions. Since 2000, graduates have received almost $1.3 million in college scholarships either awarded directly by Community Club or through nominations by Community Club for outside scholarships.
